PinkBike Photo Contest

Hell ya!! I won one of the categories in the PinkBike “2009 Sea Otter Photo Contest“.

My photo of the Atherton bros pinning a corner on the dual slalom won for the “Best Dual Slalom Photo” catagory. $100 suckaz!!

I also got a honorable mention for the “Best Crash Photo” with this one

Way Cool!! Big thanks to the guys at PinkBike.com and whoever else voted. There were so many photographers at Sea Otter and there were so many great photos posted. I learned more on that trip about shooting bikes than on any other. Still a long ways to go.

Fluidride Cup #2 / ProGRT

I’m having some trouble uploading pictures from this weekend’s Fluidride Cup #2 / ProGRT race at Port Angeles. Hang tight, I dont think the issue is on my end and hopefully I can get them up shortly.

Typical Saturday evening downpour. Other than that, sweet racin’. Still jonezen’ for some new PocketWizards.

EDIT:
Ok, finally got the gallery up. Some good shots. Still gotta learn how to light the rider to make the rider pop without blowing out the colors or blackening the background. For this trip I was intent on not blowing out the whites but might have been too conservative. Also I think I need to get my monitor calibrated because what looks nice and bright, doesn’t seem so bright and shiny on my work computer.

More race pix from 2009 Fluidride #2 in the Grubworks Stock Photo Gallery

This was one of the biggest photographer turnouts I’ve seen at a Fluidride Cup race being that this was also the first leg of the Pro Gravity Racing Tour (ProGRT). So photographers that you usually dont see at these “smaller” races were there in force. It is good for me to see other photographer’s shots from the same race to see how they set up and shot and their results. Lots of good photographers at these races and its good to learn from what they do right (or wrong).
